Course Memo

This course examines the major physical, psychosocial, and cognitive/language developmental milestones for children, from conception through early childhood. Basic theories of child development, biological and environmental foundations of development, and the study of children through observation and interviewing techniques are explored. The influence of families, peers, school, community environments, race, ethnicity, and culture and the media are discussed and addressed. Up to 5 hours of observation/service learning may be required.  Meant to be ordered sequentially or taken concurrently with DEP 101.
